Acne Laser
Acne Laser Treatments: The Fastest Acne Solution.
Acne has plagued everyone since puberty all the way to adulthood. Conditions are not consistent though. There are those who will have it mild while others suffer severe outbreaks. The worst thing is that acne could leave permanent scars. There are a lot of conventional treatments available. However, results are slow and could vary from person to person. A better option would be the acne laser treatment.
There are two types of acne laser treatments available:
- Diode Laser Treatment
The diode laser treatment is an acne laser treatment that targets the sebaceous gland. This means that the treatment targets the acne’s root cause. This acne laser treatment utilizes a perfect equilibrium between cooling and heating between the epidermis and upper dermis. This in turn causes minimal discomfort in the treated area.
This acne laser treatment stimulates natural collagen formation helping the skin rejuvenate. This helps in the reduction of acne scars and lesions. The treatment does not remove any skin which makes it a mild and gentle. An acne laser diode treatment still causes a little pain in the treated area. However, topical analgesics can be used to control it.
Recent studies on acne laser diode treatment reveal promising results. Initial treatment causes a 37% decrease in acne and lesions. Two treatments cause a 58% decrease in acne. A third treatment decreases acne and lesions further to 83%. The laser treatment is also tested to be effective for all skin types.
- Pulsed Dye Laser Treatment
Another popular acne laser treatment is the pulsed dye laser treatment. This method uses heat to destroy capillaries underneath the dermis. The treatment targets broken capillaries heating the small blood vessels. Coagulation occurs which is absorbed by the skin. This significantly reduces redness from acne and acne scars.
This acne laser treatment, like the diode laser, do not require anesthesia. It uses a cold spray prior to the laser beam to reduce discomfort. It also reduces redness instantly after a single treatment reducing acne scars at the same time. Although side effects from this acne laser treatment occur such as bruising, swelling and pain, these are minimal.
Acne laser treatments may be effective but these are not without disadvantages:
Expensive
Laser treatments are typically more expensive than topical ones. A single treatment session for an acne laser treatment could go up to several hundred dollars. Having a health insurance may not be helpful as these types of treatments are usually not covered. Additional costs for after-care treatments may also be needed.
Pigmentary Changes
Acne laser treatments can cause a noticeable change in color of the treated area. This causes uneven skin tone which can be embarrassing for most individuals.
Despite the cost and side-effects of acne laser treatments it is undeniable that these are the acne treatments that give the fastest visible results. There are alternatives and cheaper options out there. But if you want to get rid of that troublesome acne as soon as possible then take any of these two laser treatments. They can be cheaper in the long run while giving you a blemished free skin within days.
